Registration Form is at the bottom of the page for Latin and Literature. Registration for Charlotte Mason Academic Classes is listed under the class description.
We have categorized most of our classes into Charlotte Mason's Forms system. We use this system to determine which sections and which classes students are ready to attend. When we label an offering as designed for a particular Form, we ask that the student meet the minimum age for that Form, and not exceed the maximum age for that Form either. We realize there will be exceptions, but those are to be discussed with the Director and the teacher of that particular class prior to registration. Form 1 can be divided out into two parts, but includes children ages 6-9. The two parts are as follows:
Form IB: age 6
Form IA: age 7-9
Form 2 follows a similar pattern of dividing the Form into two parts: Form IIB: age 9 Form IIA: age 10-12 Later Forms are not divided into two parts, but cover a more general time frame in the student's education. They are as follows: Form III and IV: roughly grades 7-9 (At CCC we usually expect a Form III student to be at least 12 years old, but in some cases, they may not begin Form III until they are 13 years old, depending on the family.) Form V and VI: roughly grades 10-12 (At CCC we usually expect a Form V student to be at least 15 years old but in some cases, they may not begin Form V until they are 16 years old, depending on the family.)

Homework will mostly be completed in class, and the only time spent outside of class on Algebra will be if the student needs to catch up due to being absent, needs extra practice, or is taking a test. The tests will be take-home tests so that we don’t have to use class time for testing. I will grade the tests, and I will maintain a record of grades for each student. Grades will be based on homework and tests. If you did not take the first half of Algebra with me, please contact me if you are interested in signing up for this class to discuss the possibility of catching up on your own and joining the class where we are.
Geometry ($350 per year, 40-minute class, 4 days per week, 32 weeks) We will continue with the second half of Geometry: Seeing, Doing, Understanding by Harold Jacobs over 32 weeks. Homework will mostly be completed in class, and the only time spent outside of class on Geometry will be if the student needs to catch up due to being absent, needs extra practice, or is taking a test. Chemistry ($500 per year, 45-min class, 4 days per week, 32 weeks) We will continue with the second half of Discovering Design with Chemistry by Dr. Jay L. Wile over 32 weeks. We will do the labs that are included in the book. On a typical class day, we will cover a portion of the material in the book through discussion and maintaining notebooks. On lab days, we will spend the majority of the class doing the lab, and then the end of class will include time for our lab notebooks and cleaning up. Occasionally we may run out of time, and in those situations we will need to complete the lab notebook at home (I hope this is rare). The only time spent outside of class on Chemistry will be if the student needs to catch up due to being absent, needs extra practice, or is taking a test. Students will also need to complete part of the Chapter Review at home. The tests will be take-home tests so that we don’t have to use class time for testing. I will grade the tests, and I will maintain a record of grades for each student. Grades will be based on notebooks and tests. If you did not take the first half of Chemistry with me, please contact me if you are interested in signing up for this class to discuss the possibility of catching up on your own and joining the class where we are.

Literature and Writing Dr. Larry Hunt
Tuition: ($800 per year, 60-minute class, 1 day per week, 32 weeks, beginning July 31) Class minimum: 2 The class is for forms 3 and up.
Course Description: I have designed this course to fulfill a year of credit for high school English. Our weekly in-person meetings will be supplemented by outside reading and writing for which I will provide feedback and guidance. In the course, students will learn the essentials of how to appreciate and interpret literature from the traditional canon of great works, how to recognize and analyze logical arguments as they appear in speech and writing, how to create a written response to such arguments in essay form, and how to translate good research into a persuasive thesis. Textbooks: I will provide shorter works (poetry, essays, short stories, articles, etc.) to each student as a course packet. The cost of these packets is included in the tuition. Below are the longer works that we will be reading over the course of the year. You will need to purchase these separately, and I will send links once registration is complete. Bulfinch’s Mythology by Thomas Bulfinch Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo translated by J.R.R. Tolkien Beowulf translated by Burton Raffel
